Gathering of Engineers

Ludographic considerations from the Silicon Forest

Friday, August 26, 2005

Welcome to the Gathering of Engineers!

The Gathering of Engineers is a new group weblog authored by a group of gamers who happen to mostly be involved in the high tech industry. If you are looking for a weblog about video games, you are in the wrong place! Here we’ll be discussing board games, card games, war games, and maybe even collectible games.

Our goal is to to publish about daily with a consistent rotation among our team members… speaking of which, here’s a list of the crew:

We’ll let each author introduce himself during the first round of posts.

Edit: In response to the Gamefest.com announcement, I wanted to clarify in this welcome message that we are all members of the same gaming group.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think the choice of color scheme is hard on the eyes?

Another group blog. I like the idea of group blogs -- doesn't put so much pressure on one person to be entertaining and witty day after day. It will be interesting to see another set of comments and opinions about board gaming.

I'll definitely be checking in each day to see what's up. Great line-up.

I, too, think the light green headings are tough on the eyes. Maybe forest green.

This was a standard Blogger template I chose when I first set it up. Chris has been given free reign to try something new. Thanks for the feedback.

As an engineer (Civil Engineering degree) working as a programmer (well..Resource Analyst...which simply means I'm responsible for the numbers that come out of my applications as well as the applicaitons themselves) this is right up my alley. Cool.

Well, the 'color scheme' is a tad on the "bright forest slug" appearance, but if you happen to LIKE 'them', then it's okay! Now I want a 'yellow' or 'green' popsickle to obtain the 'taste' for this!

Keep in mind that the main posters on this blog live in Oregon, where the forest slug is the state bird. So the color is spot on, if you ask me. :-)
Looking forward to my first post in a day or two...
